Here’s the truth: one-day installers rush the job to get in and out quickly. Hence, they skip proper concrete preparation by using a fast-curing polyurea direct-to-concrete. Yet polyureas aren’t sufficient moisture vapor barriers. Why? Because in the presence of medium to high moisture, a polyurea cures even quicker, and thus, doesn’t deeply penetrate and bond with the concrete slab. In addition, quick-cure polyureas can only go down thinly.
